Upper Skagit River Hydroelectric Project

The Skagit River Hydroelectric Project is a series of dams with hydroelectric power-generating stations on the Skagit River in northern Washington State. The project is owned and operated by Seattle City Light to provide electric power for the City of Seattle and surrounding communities. There are three major dams in the Skagit River Project: Gorge Dam, Diablo Dam, and Ross Dam.

1. Gorge Dam on the Skagit River:

The New Tacoma Narrows Bridge was dedicated on July 15, 2007

Five years ago today, the new Tacoma Narrows Bridge was dedicated. On July 15, 2007, nearly 50,000 - 60,000 people came to celebrate new bridge.

The new bridge was built parallel to and south of the older bridge, which in turn replaced the original Tacoma Narrows Bridge, the famous "Galloping Gertie" built in 1940 and collapsed in a windstorm a few months later. (HistoryLink.org)

Roza Diversion Dam

Roza Dam is a diversion dam, it diverts water from the Yakima River. The dam located 10 miles north of Yakima. It lies in the scenic Yakima River Canyon.

The Henry Thompson Bridge in Concrete, WA

The Henry Thompson Bridge, also know as Baker River Bridge (WA-105), was one of the longest single-span concrete structure in the West when built. The bridge is the only link between the two halves of the city of Concrete. This bridge has been listed in the NRHP. 

Whatcom Falls Bridge

Whatcom Falls bridge, in the Whatcom Falls Park, is made out of Chuckanut sandstone. The bridge was built in 1939.
